Hamsters have different diseases that you should know about. The first one is called torpor. Torpor happens when your hamster gets so cold it seems dead or lifeless. If you heat he or she up it will bring it back to life. Hamsters can get common colds and have runny nose and a sneeze like humans. If you have a cold, do not handle your hamster. Hamsters could have fur and ear mites. They would have fur loss and scratching on their back. Tumors are more common on elderly female hamsters. A tumor is hard lump but if you take them to the vet they veterinarian could fix your hamster. Sometimes the surgery kills the hamster. Wet tail is a stomach infection associated with stress. It can cause death within 7 days.
